In an ever-growing competitive world for collegiate programs, the University of New England understands its need to stay on the cutting edge in order to remain at the top of the list for prospective students. With this in mind, UNE began the construction of an innovative and energy efficient building for its popular Pharmacy program.

Designed by Port City Architecture and built by Allied/Cook Construction, both located in Portland, Maine, the building is LEED certified by the U.S. Green Building Council, and includes innovative mechanical systems and energy efficient exterior materials including the windows.

Integrity from Marvin Windows and Doors All Ultrex Series Fiberglass windows were chosen for the project because of their durability and efficiency. Integrity’s All Ultrex Series includes windows and doors constructed with an interior and exterior of the unique Ultrex® pultruded fiberglass. These windows fit the needs of the project at UNE perfectly because they are easy to use, require next to no maintenance and offer classically styled narrow-profiled white interiors. Integrity was chosen for its ability to provide a modern, high performance window that fit the aesthetic needs of the project, while offering energy efficiency and the best budgetary solutions for the college. The building was the first facility devoted entirely to pharmacy academic studies and research in the state of Maine.
