On Wednesday, July 13th the season’s first PSA Brown Bag Tour took place at “Bayside Anchor”. This new 37,850 s.f. multi-family housing community is being built on the corner of Boyd and Oxford Streets in Portland for Portland Housing Authority and Avesta. The project architect, Jessie Thompson, of Kaplan Thompson Architects led the 30-person tour group through various spaces of the 45-unit apartment complex. The building houses ground floor amenities which include a community room, interior bicycle storage and on-site laundry facilities. The facility also features space for a Head Start preschool program (relocating from its former location across the street), offices for PHA, and an office for the Portland Police Department. Wright-Ryan Construction is the CM on this (US) Passive House project, along with Carrol Associates serving as the Landscape Architect, Becker Structural Engineers, Ransom Consulting Engineers & Scientists, and Apex Engineering rounding out the design team.
