Mechanics’ of the Built Environment

Provides a platform to engage in conversation to discuss policy related to the built environment, to ask questions, and form your own ideas or talking points for current topics in Portland.

Mechanics' of the Built Environment is a free lunchtime forum on current planning initiatives that impact the built environment. This program is designed to create fluency around policy, planning, and design while encouraging frequent participation in conversations that matter. We host these events either in our partner's space at Mechanics' Hall (thus the namesake), or via Zoom.

Previous topics include: Design Guidelines, The Portland Permitting Process, One Climate Future, The ReCode, and Bird Safe Ordinances
